The Toronto Ultra and Los Angeles Thieves earned victories on Friday in qualifying for the Call of Duty League Stage 3 Major, leaving them tied for second place with idle OpTic Texas.
Toronto (5-1) swept the last-place Boston Breach 3-0, while Los Angeles (5-1) topped the Seattle Surge 3-1. OpTic Texas are also 5-1, just behind the Atlanta FaZe (6-0).

Minnesota Twins right-hander Simeon Woods Richardson will be pitching to clinch the series Saturday afternoon against the host Toronto Blue Jays, the team that traded him nearly three years ago.
